1.   More greens & less sugar

Adopting a healthy eating habit is easier said than done. However, we’re aware that maintaining a healthy diet and eating properly and is easier said than done. Keep in mind that a healthy diet does not refer to lowering your daily food intake – rather, it alludes to integrating nutritious sustenance in your daily meals. As well, insatiable sugar cravings are not easy to appease. Therefore, we have included some tips to maintain a balanced regime;

  • Make your own green juice. If you’re having a hard time incorporating vegetables and fruits in your meals, blending them to take it with breakfast or before a morning run is the perfect way to kickstart your regime. Our favourite tool to do so would be the HOMEOVER cold-press juicer.
  • Stay hydrated. Drinking water has multiple health benefits but also helps combat sugar cravings. The Healthish water bottle is a great tool to keep track of your water intake and have drunk the right quantity by the end of the say.
  • Eat snacks. There are great substitutes to sweets that are healthy and delicious. Our personal favourites would be Mid-Day Squares, which consist of organic chocolate bar rich in protein.
  • Give in. Make sure that you don’t completely cut off your guilty pleasures. It’s important that you gradually reduce but also have your own system of cheat days to reward yourself, so it keeps you going towards your goals.

2.   Daily activities

Exercise daily to get your blood flowing and your heart pumping. This will help build your confidence, glow, and feel better. Are you lacking the motivation to leave your place and get it done? Here are some ways we think will help you;

  • Invite a friend. Bring a companion to your workout sesh to push yourselves.
  • Sign up for a sport. Volleyball and flag football are great examples of activities that would help you stay disciplined and attend as they are companions who are dependant of you to complete the team.
  • Practice your favourite activity. A stroll in the garden, biking in the city or kayaking in camping. Pick your favourite outfit for your favourite setting

3.   Relaxation

It’s important you make more time for yourself for your mental health.  Take a step back, prioritize yourself. Remember you work to live, you don’t live to work. We included some some activities with places you can integrate in your daily routine to tune out from this fast-paced world.

  • A local Montreal Tibetan Buddhist meditation center with affordable group sessions to kickstart your wellness journey.
  • Yoga. Ensō yoga offers a variety of packages to choose from depending on your needs.
  • Read books. Novels are a great tool to cultivate your general knowledge or submerge into a different world while distressing.
  • Watch movies. Romcoms, horrors, fantasy,… so many entertainment options to pick from to escape the daily hassle.
  • Spa. Is there a better way to cool down then at a resort? Check out Scandinave Spa where you can get complete relaxation with different types pf massages based on your needs.

4.   Beauty sleep

Adopt a routine before going to bed. Doing so will allow your body to ease itself and will help your brain recognize when it’s time to sleep. Here are a few tricks you can incorporate before going to bed to fall asleep faster:

  • Drink tea. Caffeine may not be your best friend before a good night’s sleep, however herbal teas do promote a good slumber.
  • Set a sleep schedule. Help your body adapt itself to a routine by going to bed, and waking up every day at the same time.
  • Avoid blue light. Blue light can disrupt the sleeping cycle as it supresses the release of melatonin – a hormone that helps us fall asleep. Avoiding screens at least half an hour before going to sleep can help make a difference.

    5.   Patience & Consistency

    Remember that any goal takes effort, time, and consistency. No magic will show results the next day. This goes for any habit you’re trying to adapt as well. Although you won’t be able to start eating greens, exercise, sleep better or relax everyday right of the bat, you will be able to get there someday! So, keep trying and don’t give up!
